Bronzed

So today thought I would write about a topic that has been seeming to rise up more and more the closer we get to Summer…that is tanning, glowing, bronzed, all of the above! As the temperatures start to rise and more skin starts to show, that’s when this “tan” becomes extra important. Luckily, in today’s world there are many more ways to get your tan on than sun exposure and the infamous tanning bed. Fake tanning has become so popular and the products are so well made that there’s no point to putting your skin through the harsh methods used in the past to get that golden glow. Since we’re just beginning to make our way into summer I thought it would be a perfect time to list the best self-tanning products and other ways to get your glow ready for all of the lakes, beaches, and pools to come! So lets jump right in to the top tanning lotions you can do at home, as well as some of the best other ways to get glowing.

$33.00: Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel$9.00: Jergens Natural Glow (More price friendly too)

$23 for 10 wipes: Tan Towel Self-Tan Towelettes

38/session: Mystic Tan UV-Free Spray on Tanning (Have to go to a salon for this, but it is done by professionals with guaranteed results)

I hope this helps everyone get some inspiration to save your skin the trouble of beds and sunburns and get the exact same look with these awesome products! Tanning this way we will not only be looking fabulous now, but down the road as well. Taking care of our skin will definitely pay off! Happy Summer everyone!

Crafting

Today I have decided to write about crafts, due to a REALLY fun craft night I had with my friends this past week. Crafting is something that I have always been very interested in because I love doing art but I’m not quite talented enough to call myself an “artist” so I took upon the label of “crafter” because it was less formal but equally fun. I thought I would talk about my favorite craft that I have found over the years so incase you get an extra minute in your crazy schedules or just need to have one of those days/nights that have nothing to do with work, school, schedules, etc. and just want to put your mind something completely different for a bit.

So my favorite craft is….painting wine glasses! I have accumulated many sets since I discovered this one, not only is it fun but also useful. This one is so great because you can literally put whatever kind of design you want on them and you can make singles or sets, and it’s very budget friendly. I suggest going to the dollar store and buying as many glasses as you wish to paint, they have a surprisingly large variety of styles! Then at any local craft store you can buy the colors of paint (I suggest the one that have tips on them if you’re a beginner) that you want to use. You can also glue gems, add feathers, pretty much anything small enough to fit on the glass you can add on, I’ve literally seen it all! Some of the designs I’ve done in the past are a set based on my sorority colors (Silver, Yellow, and Blue), my initials and favorite colors (pink and green), and just this past week I did a leopard print set switching off between different colors.

This craft is also a great birthday present if you want to make something original for your friends and once again stay on that college budget. You can really personalize them by putting favorite lyrics of songs or inside jokes you may have with your friends on them. I have received a couple of glasses like this, and they just feel so personal and different then anything that could be bought at a store. Next time you have those creative urges I recommend getting some friends together and having a wine glass painting party! It’s fun to share all of the materials and see everyone’s progress as they come along. Also when they are eventually used it makes it extra fun to have the memories of making them! Here are some pictures of ones I found that I think would be fun to try:

JEWELRY!!

This week I have decided to write about that fabulous invention called Jewelry! I seriously don’t even know where to begin with my passion for it! First of all I love how versatile it is and no matter who you are or where you live it can be a part of your life. On that note I love how it can completely change the feeling of your outfit and style as well, depending on what kind of mood you are in that day. Jewelry just has that beautiful way of finishing off a look and making everything not only look put together but completed head to toe. I though for fun I would put together some different jewelry looks that would go well with some of the Emma Graham pieces, depending on what kind of look you are going for.

Ok the first couple looks I’ve found go along with the Jenn Dress. This dress is so amazing because of how many different occasions it is fit for. I’ve also found that it’s flattering on almost everyone because of its insanely cute ruffles! Here are a couple ideas for how jewelry can finish the dress.

This second look I chose to use is the Molly shirt. I love this shirt not only because it is reversible but because the color is absolutely gorgeous and can go with so many different things! I also love the neckline and once again think it’s one of those pieces that look flattering on everyone. I’ve put together a couple jewelry looks that show off the super cute Molly shirt!

As you can see from these two options there are SOOOO many ways in which we can use jewelry to enhance and finish off our looks. I recommend getting some staple pieces that you can put with almost anything (Like the rings for Dinner Date with the Jenn), while also investing in some fun bold bright pieces (like the earrings for Going Out under Molly). Go out there and get your sparkle, shine, and glitz on with all the fabulous jewelry waiting out there for you to discover!
