The Do’s and Don’t of:

SUMMER PACKING

So two weeks ago I went on the best vacation of the year! A tropical trip to Saint Thomas with my family and friend Alex! We had a wonderful time on the island drinking daiquiris and relaxing by the pool! It was an amazing trip, but it also gave me inspiration for this week’s blog: packing. Packing is a nightmare and I know how annoying it can be. After learning a few neat tricks of my own I decided to write a bit about what I have learned over the years in the rules of packing and decided to create my very own DOs and DONTs of packing for a summer vacation so you always pack the right stuff!

DO Pack pieces that are versatile, that way you wont have to worry about having a ton of pieces that don’t make an outfit!

DONT fold your clothe like you would in a drawer. Roll them to create space and decrease wrinkles.

DO Always pack a light sweater, thin scarf and pair of socks for on the plane! Most places you go, even if really hot have air conditioning or even chilly nights, so you could still get a little chilly!

DON’Twear your thinnest flip-flops onto the plane. Create space in your bag by wearing  a tennis shoe for working out or a wedge to be paired with a sun dress, That way you don’t pack unnecessary items that just add bulk, and a extra pound baggage fee!

DO remember to pack accessories, such as jewelry, watches, hats, and sunglasses ahead of time. Also when packing remember you might love a certain pair of sunglasses or other piece but you don’t want to lose them on your trip so maybe bring a cheaper pair along!

DON’T just throw in cute clothes as you go. Think about outfits and the weather forecast and try to plan accordingly. That way you are not overwhelmed by the mass of cute clothes in your bag that wont fit!

DO pack sunscreen! We all want to be tan goddesses, but there are easier and better ways than exposing yourself to sun damage. Consider packing a self-tanner instead!
